Compose and post to LiveJournal, view and edit LiveJouranl posts, check your text for spelling errors before you post, preview your text before posting, insert links and images – all these features and more are put at your disposabl by Semagic, a free client for LiveJournal.

The Semagic installer is 2Mb in size. Get this installer if you want to install Semagic on your Windows-powered machine. If you don’t want to install anything, a ZIP file that requires no installation is available for download on Semagic’s official website.

Installing Semagic on a Windows PC is a standard procedure: download the aforementioned 2MB installer, run it, then follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard. Three things must be mentioned here: you will be invited to select what type of shortcuts to create, you will be invited to install a browser add-on, and you will be invited to get some extra dictionaries.

To get started with Semagic you will first have to log in using your LiveJournal username and password. Once you log in, you will be presented with a simple interface: the post you’re working on is presented on the main panel, there’s a handy toolbar at the top, there’s a handy panel to the right that allows you to set the security level, backdate entries, and more.

From this user friendly interface you will be able to perform a lot of tasks. Or to put it in other words, there’s a lot you can do with Semagic: create and post to LiveJournal; play with the text formatting, insert links, insert images into posts; spell check and preview text before posting; view all your posts (history); post to multiple journals; add and edit friends; and more.

Seeing that Semagic is freeware, you have all the time in the world to uncover all its features and functions.

Semagic works as advertised, it comes with an easy to navigate interface, and it is free. These three elements make it a must have for LiveJournal users.

Pros

Downloading and installing Semagic will take little time. Easily navigate the interface and easily access Semagic’s functionality. Semagic is a free LiveJournal client with lots of useful features to offer.

Cons

None that I could think of.
